This is a beautiful Victorian silver bangle with very pretty engraved flowers and leaves, and a very ornate buckle feature. The back has a glossy, smooth polished finish, and the bangle has a strong push in clasp which fastens it very securely. It has a quality hinged opening and is complete with its original safety chain. This is a silver coloured metal.
The bangle measures 6 & 1/2" (16.3cms) in length and has a wide 3/4" width (1.9cms). It is made of solid sterling silver and is a weighty 30.7g.
The bangle has a full Birmingham assay office hallmark which dates it to 1889. It is 124 years old and in fantastic condition for its age. There are some teeny shallow dinks on the plain side as you'd expect on a bangle of this age. No nasty dents and only light surface wear. There are some light hand engraved letters on the inside of the bangle which cannot be seen when the bangle is worn. Quite common for Victorian jewellers to engrave things inside.
The bangle will be sent in a beautiful new presentation box.
