This is a stunning antique silver brooch with a beautiful Butterfly design.  Its wings are set with faceted clear crystals, and its eyes are set with pretty pink crystal cabochons.  All of the crystals are securely set and original.
There are no replacement stones!  The wings are layered and the body has detailed engraving.

The brooch is complete with its original hinged pin and C clasp fastener.

Origin/Age/Purity/Stamps

This beautiful brooch was made in Europe and will have originated from Austria or Germany.  It dates to 1890/1900.  
It is made of 800 grade silver and is accordingly stamped as such.  This indicates a silver purity of 80%, slightly lower than 925 sterling which is 92.5% silver.  800 grade silver was commonly used, in Austria and Germany, in the period this brooch was made.

The brooch has an 800 purity stamp, plus a further mark which is either a town stamp or makers stamp.

Superb antique condition.

Secure fastening.

Minor light tarnish.
